Hans Offringa: A Taste of Whisky
Dutch whisky expert and author Hans Offringa selected 10 Scottish single malts and approached four famous chefs in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Scotland with the following question: Would you be so kind to prepare a 10 course menu with these whiskies? They all agreed and the answer came as 40 surprisingly different, tasty and creative whisky-&-food combinations.
A Taste of Whisky is not a classical cooking book. First and foremost it is a lifestyle book about taste. How the taste of whisky can be combined with food. It is also a book to look at, time and again, thanks to the beautiful photography from award-winning Dutch graphic designer and photographer Gijs Dragt. The reader is taken on a journey starting at the roots, in the Scottish distilleries, travelling through the beautiful landscape of the Highlands, straight to the tables of the four chefs.
